Rebranding of ZF Lifetec
ZF Lifetec
- Our paths and those of ZF have been crossing since 2000. We have also been visiting the plant in Stará Boleslav, more precisely in Hlavenec, for almost as long. During that time, we have provided our services at the same address for TRW-Carr s.r.o., ZF Passive Safety Czech s.r.o. and now for ZF LIFETEC. And yet, it is still essentially the same company, manufacturing seat belts for cars literally all over the world.
With changes in the ownership structure – first the merger of TRW and ZF, and now the separation and establishment of the passive safety division as an independent entity under the ZF Lifetec brand – comes a change of name and, in many cases, the need for rebranding.
Modern rebranding of the Stará Boleslav plant
And in this case, BPR was there for both. A reminder of the brand-new entrance reception we created back in 2019 still hangs on the wall of our Liberec office. The blue colors remained part of the ZF Hlavenec site until the beginning of 2025.
Shortly before the end of 2024, work began on another major change. The blue-and-white ZF Passive Safety Czech s.r.o. was transformed into the black ZF LIFETEC. This created the need to redesign the entrance reception, directional signs and descriptive labels, the site map, banners, and more.
And in the first wave of the rebranding, we were of course primarily dealing with everything that is directly visible.
The biggest challenge was working with black, which is the dominant color of the company's new brand. Its use in interiors has its limitations, so we looked for ways to bring the new visuals to life, brighten them up and create a modern graphic style that reflects current trends.
Into a new era with a new visual identity
Thanks to a detailed study of the brand manual, we identified elements that could be adapted and implemented across all the surfaces included in the rebranding project. We gradually redesigned the reception area, turnstiles, the huge banner at the site exit, banners in the production halls, tables, the site map, directional signs, workplace labels and the “performance boards” used to record results.
We believe that the new visual style is appreciated not only by us, but most importantly by the people at ZF, for whom it creates a more pleasant and representative working environment. We would like to thank ZF for its long-standing trust and for giving us the opportunity to approach the new visuals creatively within the possibilities allowed by the brand manual.
